墨イズムとは、墨による表現主義として提示したものです。墨とはインクの日本語で、煤と膠と香料で作られた黒色の描画・書写材料です。2000年以上もの間、東洋の書道や絵画に用いられてきました。長い間受け継がれてきた歴史の中で、墨は東洋の美意識や哲学と深く結びつき、シンプルでありながら無限の表現の可能性を持つ素材として、現代においても多くのアーティストに用いられています。

Sumi-ism is a concept proposed as a form of expressionism through the use of sumi. Sumi is the Japanese word for ink, a black medium made from soot, animal glue, and fragrance. It has been used in East Asian calligraphy and painting for over 2,000 years. Through this long history, sumi has become deeply intertwined with Eastern aesthetics and philosophy. Despite its simplicity, it offers limitless expressive possibilities, and continues to be embraced by many contemporary artists today.
