『墨のスペクトル』 北井画廊
北井画廊は創業して25年以上のあいだ、現代の墨作品を取り扱ってきております。アジアにおける墨作品の歴史は長く、その変遷の先に墨の表現は多様化しています。今回はこれまで誰もやってこなかった、独特の光のカタチを墨で頑なに追求しつづける宮城県は石巻の書家・千葉紅雪（ちば こうせつ）の作品です。彼女が一途に「いのり」を込めた墨作品の数々を披露します。
宮城県は石巻の書家・千葉紅雪は、地元の書の大家・大内魯邦氏と、既に国際的評価を得ている書家・千葉蒼玄氏に師事し、毎日書道展、書道芸術院展、河北書道展、他の書道展にて半世紀ほど研鑽を積んでいる書家です。二十数年前に若きご子息を亡くされてから、彼女が一途に祈りつづけ追求しつづける、墨で光を具現化するような独特の表現、それはまるで彼女というプリズムを通して表出される墨のスペクトルの集積であり、鳥瞰図のようなその造形は天からの眺めのようでもあります。2011年に地元石巻で東日本大震災に遭い、多くの命の旅立ちに立ち会われてからは、その祈りが次の次元に進化されたそうです。2018年に毎日書道展グランプリの会員賞を受賞後、今回、満を持して美術市場への初参入となります。

“Spectrum of Sumi ink”
For over 25 years, Gallery KITAI has been dedicated to contemporary Sumi ink works. The history of ink art in Asia is long and varied, and its expressions have diversified over time. This exhibition features the works of Kosetsu Chiba, a calligrapher from Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, who has relentlessly pursued unique forms of light through Sumi ink. We are proud to showcase her Sumi ink artworks, imbued with a profound sense of prayer.
Kosetsu Chiba has studied under prominent local calligrapher Roho Ouchi and internationally recognized calligrapher Sogen Chiba. With nearly half a century of experience, she has exhibited in prestigious calligraphy exhibitions such as the Mainichi Shodo Exhibition, the Shodo Geijutsuin Exhibition, and the Kahoku Calligraphy Exhibition. Following the loss of her young son over twenty years ago, She has been devoted to a unique form of expression that seeks to materialize light through Sumi ink. This approach can be seen as a spectrum of Sumi ink manifested through the prism of her being, creating bird’s-eye view-like shapes reminiscent of a heavenly perspective. In 2011, after experiencing the Great East Japan Earthquake in her hometown of Ishinomaki and witnessing many lives lost, her prayers evolved to another level. After receiving the Grand Prix Member Award at the Mainichi Shodo Exhibition in 2018, she is now making her long-awaited debut in the art market with this exhibition.
